The Metering Awards Program™ recognizes utilities for excellence in metering initiatives worldwide. In 2006 and 2007, we partnered with AMRA to facilitate the Metering Awards, and please see www.metering-awards.com for more information.
Since 2002, over 150 utilities from all across the world have entered these awards programs - including entries from Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, Australia, USA, etc.
AN UNPRECEDENTED CROSS-INDUSTRY EFFORT
The Awards Programs represent an unprecedented collaborative effort by all types of utilities working together to recognize other utility colleagues for excellence. This year’s panel of judges represents the biggest-ever global cross section of utilities that have volunteered their time – including electric cooperatives, investor owned utilities, water companies, gas companies, municipal utilities and international utilities.
Winners are determined by a panel of peers, with many former utility winners serving as judges this year. The judging panel for the UPN awards programs for years has offered unique mix of professionals representing utilities worldwide like Progress Energy, Gaz Metro (Canada), Boston Water Sewer Commission, Connecticut Light & Power, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer, Electricite de France (Paris), Metro Water Services and Entergy. As such, winning projects do not represent or imply UPN's (or other utilities’) endorsement or recommendation of technologies and/or products/services associated with each winning initiative – rather, the awards program is a collaborative effort to congratulate utilities for their efforts associated solely with the content and quality of written applications.
